Leafs can’t seem to catch a break

January 31st, 2008, No Comments

Well I guess that is not entirely true. The only break they seem to be able to catch is broken bones. With several goals under review tonight against Carolina and last game against St. Louis, only 1 of them were ruled in favour for the Leafs.
One has to start to wonder if it’s fate for [...]

NOB Line Re-united

January 31st, 2008, No Comments

One of the most exciting and physical lines we’ve seen from the Maple Leafs in the past few years has been the Belak, Newbury and Ondrus line.
It is said tonight this line will be re-united! Tonight should be a good physical game!

Leafs take on Huricanes tonight

January 31st, 2008, No Comments

Tonight the Maple Leafs will take on the Carolina Hurricanes. There have been no shortage of rumors in Toronto this week and as it gets closer to the trade deadline they will probably not stop coming in.
Ben Ondrus has been called up by the Maple Leafs. It is rumored that Chad Kilger will not play tonight in the [...]

Newbury called up

January 29th, 2008, No Comments

It has been reported that Kris Newbury has been called up from the Marlies. Newbury has been know to play the game with an edge, he likes to play physical and is know to drop the gloves. He may bring the spark that this team needs.
It was also reported that Boyd Devereaux did not take [...]

Back to the Regular Season

January 28th, 2008, No Comments

In the All Star game Tomas Kaberle ended up playing 16:32 in the game and ended up with a -1 rating for plus-minus.
Now that the All Star weekend is done, it’s time for the Maple Leafs to start focusing on the regular season again.
The Leafs just like last year are struggling with injuries as well [...]

All Star Weekend

January 27th, 2008, No Comments

Well it’s the All Star weekend. A time of rest for most of the Maple Leafs. Except for Tomas Kaberle of coarse.
Tomas Kaberle was the only Leaf to crack the All Star games team roster. He did us proud! Kaberle hit 8 out of his 9 shots, earning him (and the East) the win in the shooting [...]

Another day in Toronto – Sat Jan 26

January 26th, 2008, No Comments

Well another day in Toronto. More and more questions and thought come up regarding what will happen to this team.
First off, in the last 2 games the Leafs lost 3 players – Alexei Ponikarovsky, Alex Steen and Darryl Boyce have been added to the teams injury list. Toronto appears to be a team full of injuries. The odd [...]

Another Injury (Steen) — Still no Belak?

January 25th, 2008, No Comments

Thank you Maurice, again you proved my point as to why the team needs Wade Belak in the lineup. How many Leaf plays injured due to dirty hits will it take for you to realize this?
It is interesting that instead of playing Belak, the team put John Pohl in and even called up Boyce a [...]
