Trade Deadline has Come and Gone

February 26th, 2008, No Comments

The Leafs lineup will indeed look a little different, but there have been no additions to the lineup. The Maple Leafs traded away Hal Gill, Wade Belak and Chad Kilger, all for draft picks.
The first trade was announced this morning around 11am. Wade Belak was dealt for a 5th round 2008 draft pick from the [...]

The Leafs defeated the Blue Jackets in a 3-1 win on Tuesday, they face Buffalo tonight.
Several key members of the team may not be playing at full tilt. Tomas Kaberle is said to have the flu and missed practice yesterday. Pavel Kubina and Darcy Tucker both have foot injuries after both were hit with pucks on [...]

Get ready for a snoozer!

Tonight Toronto faces the Bruins again. There is just something that almost every Leafs fan hates when they face Boston. My thinking is it’s just a boring game.
Boston plays the old boring Trap style hockey. They don’t make many offensive plays, they tend to sit back and wait for the other team to make a [...]

Leafs fall in Buffalo

February 14th, 2008, No Comments

After a low scoring 1-0 loss to the Sabres, the Maple Leafs look to rebound tonight against the New York Islanders. Maurice has not announced yet if Chad Kilger will be returning tonight, or if they will stay with a 7 defense strategy.
The Leafs do not seem to be climbing out of the big hole [...]

Fun’s over, back to work

February 11th, 2008, No Comments

The Maple Leafs hosted their annual skills competition yesterday. Most Leaf players enjoyed the time off from regular games and practices and enjoyed just taking laying back and having fun.
It was very shocking to find that the attendance was much lower than normal even for a skills competition.
Some highlights of the event;
This probably doesn’t surprise [...]

The underdogs take on and defeat number 1 team

February 9th, 2008, No Comments

Not many people saw this coming. The Toronto Maple Leafs defeated the Red Wings today in a 3-2 overtime win.
The main highlight of the game seemed to be a goaltender dual between Vesa Toskala and the veteran Dominik Hasek. The odd thing with this is almost every goal scored in this game was a fluke, [...]
